Ibiza's best beaches
The characteristics of Ibiza are the island's main attraction. Covering an area of 572 km2, Ibiza has 210 km of beaches and very mild temperatures, which mean they can be enjoyed all year round. Along more than 18 km where white sands meet crystalline water, you can bathe on beaches that provide all services and varied ambience. There are coves like Cala d'Hort, dominated by the imposing, magnetic fascinating isle of Es Vedrà.
Other beaches of outstanding beauty are Platges de Comte, spots corners like Es Pou des Lleó, and large, world-famous beaches such as Platja d'en Bossa and Es Figueral. Ses Salines and Es Cavallet beaches are in nature reserves and boast a sand dune system of great ecological importance. The island's beaches are notable for their singular beauty and transparency of the turquoise-blue water, thanks to posidonia oceanica. You can also sample the culture of the island with a visit to the Phoenician village of Sa Caleta and ancient defence towers circling Ibiza's coastline.
